Executive Portrait Shoot for Data Logic

Data Logic is a tech company here in Harlingen, Texas. I shot photography for them for an issue of RGVision Magazine several months ago, and got a call back to shoot the remainder of the staff. For this type of portraiture, I use a conservative, professional-looking gray backdrop, a vintage Vivitar background flash, 580exII with and umbrella for the main light, and a reflector to bounce a little back onto the subject. The end result is a glowing halo effect around my subject, which emphasizes the person and draws in attention. The reflector/flash combo usually results in a roughly 2:1 lighting ratio, and gives the photo a little more dimension with strong directional lighting.
